We both started with the same mission - to take a slow, paper-heavy and confusing part of money and make it digital-first and simple. Now Habito’s part of Monzo, we’re working to make the journey to owning a home (and everything after) smoother than ever.

What this means

Whether you’re buying a home or looking for a better deal on your current one, our mission hasn’t changed:

  • Unbiased advice: We compare mortgages from over 95 lenders across the market to find the right mortgage for you.
  • Expert human support: You’ll still get a dedicated adviser and case manager to help you find the right product and handle the heavy lifting from start to finish.
  • Totally fee-free: Our advice won’t cost you a penny. We get paid by your lender if you take out a mortgage.
  • Open to everyone: You don’t need a Monzo account to use Habito. Anyone can come to us for mortgage advice.

Looking ahead

Habito brings deep mortgage expertise. Monzo brings simple, empowering digital banking used by millions. Together, we’re building a mortgage experience that feels clear from start to finish.

We’re combining world-class technology from both teams to create a mortgage experience that’s actually built for the 21st century. Think less jargon, less unnecessary paperwork, and a much more intuitive way to manage your mortgage.

This is just the start. We’re building a mortgage experience that’s simpler, clearer and easier to manage - so one of life’s biggest financial decisions feels a lot less overwhelming.

If you’re thinking of getting a mortgage, it’s a good idea to chat to an expert. At Habito, you can do this for free!

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Frequently asked questions

Is Habito owned by Monzo?

Yes, Habito became fully owned by Monzo in April 2026.

Is Monzo launching mortgage products?

No. Monzo isn’t a mortgage lender, and we’ll continue to compare mortgages from 95+ different lenders across the market. Our job is to find the right deal for you, whether that’s from a bank, a building society, or a specialist provider.

Does this change how Habito gives advice?

No. Habito looks at mortgages from 95+ different lenders and recommends the right one for you based on your needs and circumstances. That’s not changing.

Do I need a Monzo account to use Habito?

Not at all. While we think you’d love Monzo, Habito is open to everyone. You’ll still get the same fee-free advice and support, whether you bank with Monzo or not.

Will I be able to see my mortgage in the Monzo app?

If you’re a Monzo customer and you already have a mortgage, you can already connect and track your mortgage balance, repayments and your equity. As we grow together, we’ll be finding even better ways to help you manage your mortgage directly from the app. Watch this space!

Is Habito still fee-free?

Yes. Habito’s advice is 100% fee-free. We’re paid a commission by the lender if you take out a mortgage, which can vary depending on the lender.

I’m already a Habito customer – will this change anything?

If you’re an existing Habito customer, there’s nothing you need to do. And if you’re in the middle of applying for a mortgage, it’s business as usual - you’ll keep the same dedicated expert and case manager.

Does this change my mortgage or lender?

No. Your mortgage stays exactly the same, including your rate, lender and repayments. Nothing changes as a result of this.

Will my data be shared with Monzo?

Your data may be shared with other Monzo group companies where needed to provide our services or meet legal obligations. We’ll always handle your data in line with UK data protection laws, and you can read more in our Privacy Policy.

If anything changes, we’ll always let you know.
